Bartington offers the Spacemag-Lite three-axis fluxgate magnetometer for spaceflight applications. This magnetometer is specifically designed to be mounted on CubeSats and to withstand radiation levels of 50kRad. It is primarily used for the monitoring of spacecraft attitude and also for magnetic field-mapping purposes (mainly Earth’s magnetic field).
Spacemag-Lite | Applications
Spacemag-Lite, ideal for a variety of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions, has been designed to tolerate up to 50kRad of radiation exposure whilst using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components. This makes Spacemag-Lite suitable for both commercial and scientific missions, where cost is a consideration. Similar to Spacemag yet without radiation-hardened components, this magnetometer offers excellent value for money.
The standard Spacemag-Lite sensor is designed for CubeSat integration and for use in small satellites, or where a large number of sensors are required. Other configurations are also available, depending on the mission requirement.
